So what makes the latest Xbox 360 system Elite?
Well the first thing you'll notice is the colour. Its sleek black colour sets itself apart from its predecessors and makes a welcome change. The controller is also black to match the main unit along with the headset thrown in with the Elite package. Apart from that, not a lot has changed on the outside except for the addition of an HDMI 1.2 connector added for better connectivity.
The biggest difference with the Xbox 360 Elite system is the massive detachable 120GB hardrive, which translates into more storage for all your music, movies and games. Its support for HD output means you can view the HD movies in full HD resolution ensuring the best visual experience and it also upscales regular DVDs to HD resolution.
Also included with the Xbox Elite system is the Xbox Live Silver membership which means that not only can you chat with friends online but also taunt other players via the headset as you battle against them. A lot of content is available for download from the Xbox Live marketplace. Apart from this there is also a one month free Gold subscription for you try the complete access package to the Xbox Live service.
Currently the Xbox 360 Elite system retails for around £250, £60 more than the Premium console with its 20GB of storage and £100 more than the Arcade version which has a 256MB memory unit. So basically you're paying for the extra storage capacity. The 120GB HDD is a useful addition for those who require larger multimedia storage. There have been numerous reports also that the Elite console is quieter than previous versions. Definitely a worthwhile buy for those after the ultimate gaming experience!
