The 250GB hard drive, is easily removable and is much smaller than the previous external hard drive. The new 250Gb hard drive is not compatible with older Xbox 360s, and neither can the hard drives from older Xbox 360s be used with the new console.
To transfer data from older Xbox 360 consoles, a standard 16GB USB drive can be used to move information across bit by bit, or alternatively, the old hard drive transfer cable can be used - This cable works with the new internal hard drive.
