The PlayStation Move system is Sony's move into motion controlled gaming that works using a combination of the PlayStation Eye camera and the new Move controller. At a very simplistic level, the Move controller offers a more precise version of a Wii-style control system on a powerful high-definition console. With built-in advanced motion sensors such as a three axis accelerometer, a three axis gyroscope and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor to calculate movement & motion, the PlayStation Move translates the players motions into onscreen moves and commands in the game.
Will You Need An Eye Camera?
Players will need an Eye Camera to use the Playstation Move Controller. The Eye camera works in conjunction with the Move controller and tracks the glowing ball at the top of the controller. The PlayStation 3 Eye Camera can be bought separately or together with the PlayStation Move controller as a starter Pack. See our
Will You Need A Navigation controller?
The Navigation controller designed to go with the Move controller is similiar to what the Nunchuk attachment is to the Wii but wireless. The Sub-Controller is not essential for gameplay as Sony have said that Playstation Move games will be playable with just one Move controller. Players using the navigation or 'sub-controller' as its also known, will further enhance the interaction that they can experience with PlayStation Move games through its use. For gamers who prefer buttons, the Sub-contoller features an analog stick, directional buttons, and L1 and L2 buttons to move, although a DualShock can be used instead of the Sub-Controller for movement in games that need an analog stick. The Playstation Move Sub-Controller is available to buy separately.
