Warning On Fake Nintendo DS Chargers
29th Jul 08
Nintendo has issued a warning on a flood of fake chargers imported into the UK that could potentially kill. Imported from China, these fake power adapters retail for around £5 which may seem like an attractive bargain, compared with the official Nintendo originals which retail for around 3 times as much. According to the BCTS, many of the chargers, particularly those imported from China could potentially give you a lethal electric shock and may have overheating problems too. Versions of the copied chargers are compatible with the Nintendo DS, DS Lite and Gameboy handheld consoles. Nintendo also points out that if any damage to the console or harm to persons or property occurs while using third party chargers it is not responsible and the damage to a console will not be covered under warranty. An official Nintendo power adapter will be embossed with the Nintendo logo and the CE logo. Retailers and consumers can identify power adapters with the identification number: DE62347066
